MOSKVA(Sputnik) - Nga đã điều hai máy bay ném bom chiến lược Tu-160 tới Venezuela.

Hai chiếc Tu-160, cũng như An-124 và Il-62 của Không quân Nga đã thực hiện chuyến bay xuyên Đại Tây Dương và hạ cánh tại sân bay quốc tế Maiquetia.

Máy bay đã đi được hơn mười ngàn km. Tuyến đường bay nằm trên vùng biển Đại Tây Dương, Barents, Na Uy và vùng biển Caribe. Trên đường di chuyển tới quốc gia Nam Mỹ, đôi khi Tu-160 được "hộ tống" bởi các máy bay chiến đấu F-16  của không quân Na Uy.

Bộ Quốc phòng Nga nhấn mạnh rằng chuyến bay diễn ra tuân thủ hoàn toàn luật pháp quốc tế.

Buổi tiếp phi hành đoàn có sự tham dự của Bộ trưởng Bộ Quốc phòng Venezuela, Tướng Vladimir Padrino Lopez và đại diện của Đại sứ quán Nga.

"Chính phủ Nga đã điều máy bay ném bom qua nửa vòng Trái đất tới Venezuela. Người dân Nga và Venezuela phải hiểu điều đó có nghĩa là gì: hai chính phủ tham nhũng lãng phí tài sản quốc gia, đàn áp tự do và độc lập trong khi người dân của họ đang sống trong đói khổ", ông Pompeo nói.

Tuần trước, Bộ trưởng Quốc phòng Nga Sergey Shoigu bày tỏ hy vọng rằng những chuyến bay của Không quân Nga tới sân bay của Venezuela sẽ tiếp tục, và các tàu Hải quân sẽ ghé thăm cảng của nước Cộng hòa Nam Mỹ này.

Theo Bộ trưởng Nga, quân nhân sẽ có cơ hội tích lũy kinh nghiệm bay tầm xa quan trọng cũng như duy trì thiết bị trong điều kiện chiến đấu tốt.
